Padlet

Padlet offers the possibility of creating a shared wall which provides different ways to show your contributions: typing texts, uploading images and/ or videos and sounds. I devised a follow up activity to practise the structure presented in my Voicethread and I invited my kids to take a picture or upload a drawing of a room in their houses and record or type a description of it. This is how it looked...

Voicethread

Voicethread is another digital storytelling tool that allows you to create a story using your voice. I prepared a presentation of a grammatical structure in the hope that it would become memorable for my students.

Storybird

I used Storybird to write and illustrate a story for my kids. I intended to boost their enthusiasm in reading for pleasure with a topic that would, later on, derive in a juicy conversation on an interesting and updated topic: having a new baby in the family!

Voki

This tool allows us to choose an avatar and record our voice. It can be used in a number of ways but I chose to use my clown avatar to give instructions for a Simon Says game. Good fun for everyone!

Storyboard That

"Mary's Dream Job" is a simple story I've created it to practise the new structure "I want to ..." and consolidate vocabulary connected to jobs.
Storyboard That offers a wide variety of characters, scenes, text bubbles plus many other possibilities to make your story really attractive! I'm sure the kids will a have a very Happy Time!

Google Slides

Google Slides was another interesting Google application to try out new things. A very user- friendly tool that allowed me to create a story for my little kids. I prepared a slide presentation with some blanks accompanied by pictures, and the students were supposed to infer what the necessary words were. A good way of developing reading comprehension skills plus testing vocabulary while having fun. Try to complete the story yourself... I'm sure you can do it!

Google Drawings

Experimenting with Google Drawings, I created a Listening Activity following the format required for one of the tasks in the Kids 2 Test Format. I added voice to the names using Vocaroo and I linked some sentences to the different pictures, expecting the students to describe the visuals. It looked like this:

Google Forms Part 2

Of course, I followed the previous activity with a Google quiz trying to find out the level of difficulty they found when completing the previous exercise. The conclusion: Very user-friendly!!!

Google Forms

Within the different Google applications we started experimenting with Google forms. I designed the following form for my students to complete. Lovely tool!
